Teresa turns 100!
Just a couple weeks ago, one of our Residents turned 100! Teresa was born in Ireland in August of 1922. She is known around here to be warm, optimistic, and spunky. She loves dogs, reading, and going for walks.
Teresa is one of nine children; her three brothers and five sisters have since passed away. She lived briefly in England before making her home here in Chicago in 1952. She worked as a secretary, and was very close to her sister, who she lived with until her passing in 2006. She also has a devoted group of nephews and nieces. After many years of taking care of others, one of her nieces helped her move from her home in the community into St. Mary’s home in 2012. She wanted to be here so that she could have a safe place to grow old and the opportunity to take part in Mass regularly. We have been blessed to know Teresa for ten of her hundred years!
