Second Round of Vaccinations and Celebrating Lunar New Year
At St. Mary’s Home we successfully completed our second round of vaccinations on Friday, February 12, and we are overwhelmed with joy. This day also marked the Lunar New Year, and it could not have been more fitting that we treat this day as a reset. Indeed, the Lunar New Year signifies an opportunity to start fresh and share in the hope of good things to come.
So saying goodbye to the Year of the Rat, we said hello to the Year of the Ox.
Although welcoming the Ox, we thought it more fitting that Residents receive a visit from a dragon. Bearing lucky $2 bills and ice cream, our “dragon cart” brought joy to everyone and no doubt some good luck too!
Upon completion of vaccinating our Residents, caregivers, and other staff, all employees were treated to a wonderful meal of Chinese food prepared by our kitchen and capped off with fortune cookies. We consider ourselves fortunate to be receiving the COVID vaccine at this time and hope it will soon usher in a new phase for us and a slow return to more open activities.
