“The best place to seek God is in a garden.” George Bernard Shaw
After some crazy temperature fluctuations (49° to 92°) in the days leading up to Memorial Day, volunteers finally had a perfect day to roll up their sleeves and plant the Enabling Garden.
The two-year-old garden offers residents access to nature and engages all the senses.
Under the direction of Master Gardener Laurence “Laury” Lewis, volunteers spent the afternoon laying out the design for the various plants, flowers, succulents, and herbs and then set about planting all of them. You couldn’t tell how hard everyone worked by the smiles on their faces! The team included Sue Castro, Susan Kezon, Steve Doud and Sarah Wirtz.
Volunteers, Residents and Sisters are excited that the garden will be blossoming in time for the annual neighborhood Garden Walk in July.
