The weather was fantastic for Little Sisters of the Poor’s 10th Annual Habits on the Green fundraiser held at historic Midlothian Country Club. Golfers enjoyed beautiful scenery while challenged by fast greens and tight fairways. We were happy to honor Dr. and Mrs. Burden this year. The Burdens have been loyal supporters throughout the years and are extremely generous with their time. After their rounds, golfers joined dinner guests to mingle over cocktails and catch up with old friends. The food was delicious as usual and there was plenty to bid on in the “not so” silent and live auctions. The Chocolate Labrador puppy the Sisters nicknamed “Putter” got the most attention!
The event is really a family affair. This was the first year that my 9 and 10 year old nephews were able to play. But we are not the only family that had more than one generation on the course. Not only is this St. Mary’s Home’s signature event but it is by far my favorite tournament.
See you all next year (June 11, 2012)!
