Living Stations of the Cross
In the final days of Lent, our Residents prepared with great fervor and devotion for the blessed, glorious season of Easter. Postulants from the Conventual Franciscan Friars, who have been volunteering weekly at our Home, gathered Residents, Sisters, and staff in our chapel on Friday, April 8, to present a “Living Stations of the Cross.”
Simple but poignant tableaux, accompanied by narration and song, marked the journey of Jesus to the Cross.
Postulant Connor Ouly directed the presentation, which included other postulants and featured our Residents and members of our staff. Undertaking roles were:
Bob Kustusch (St. Mary’s Resident) as Narrator
Willie House (staff) as Jesus
Cathy Uliasz (staff) as the Blessed Virgin Mary
Eric Rewa (postulant) as St. John, Apostle
Martin Glynn (staff) as Pontius Pilate
Colden Fell (postulant) as Roman Soldier
Andre Miller (postulant) as Simon the Cyrenian
Essie Nickens (Resident) as Saint Veronica
Janette Satterlee, Liz Funchion, Jackie Bruno (Residents) as the Weeping Women
As the Singer, postulant Marvin Paul provided the musical accompaniment, leading the gathered in sacred song.
Retracing the journey of Jesus to Calvary, this Living Stations of the Cross provided a special opportunity for our community to reflect on our own faith journey during this holy time.
