The Residents of St. Mary’s Home celebrated Mardi Gras this Tuesday. This Roman Catholic tradition is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of the 40 Day Lenten season. Modeled after the Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana, our party included lots of purples, golds, and greens. Residents, Sisters, and staff participated in games and had the chance to buy popcorn or a hot dog, with all proceeds given to The SOAP Project, a non-profit organization fighting human trafficking in the United States. Check out some of the fun that was had!
